Humblest apologies

OK, I'm really sorry about the lack of updates! It's a cross between business and general lameness. I will hopefully be posting properly later today and being much more frequent with it afetr that. For now though, I give you this to ponder:

The Commonwealth Games:

Amazing athletic event, steeped in history and tradition, or an excuse for Britain not to compete against the Americans, Russians and Chinese in something?

I was thinking that too - eliminate the world's big superpowers so Britain can have a chance against her former colonies.

Paddy, oh no you didn't just knock on baseball!!! And anyway, if anyone saw the World Baseball Classic, they'd know that we didn't even win, and we invented the sport!!! Damn Japanese!

Besides, I'd rather watch curling than cricket... What's up with those silly bats, anyway?

At the risk of raising controversy here Lunar i think you'll find that Baseball originates from England, being based on rounders or 'townball'. The first formal rules being laid down by a canadian at some point in the 19th century. :p

(I'm back by the way, expect a return to ramblings soon!)

Its just a good excuse to pretend we still have an Empire - plus it gives her majesty somewhere to go for her jollies every few years :) (and we all know she likes to travel!)
